You can just raise the paddle, you don't have to actually scream. One of four versions of Edvard Munch's masterpiece "The Scream" will head to auction this spring at Sotheby's, according to NBC New York. Sotheby's estimates that the work will fetch $80 million or more. The work, which serves as a modern day icon of human anxiety, is being sold by Norwegian businessman Petter Olsen, whose father was a friend of Munch's. "The Scream" will lead Sotheby's Impressionist and modern sale on May 2 and proceeds will go toward the establishment of a new museum, art center and hotel in Hvitsten, Normway. The $80 million estimate would be near the top for an artwork. The current record is $106.5 million for Picasso's "Nude, Green Leaves and Bust," sold in 2010 by Christie's in New York. "The Scream" will be on display at Sotheby's starting April 27. For more on this story, visit NBC New York.
