if your looking for a more upscale Italian (pasta) experience in Soho check out the new Isola Trattoria At The Mondrian Soho: 9 Crosby St, btwn Grand and Howard St; Soho. Set up like the fanciest Italian back garden you've ever seen, complete with lush trees, chandelier clusters, an overhead centerpiece adorned with glass vases, and marble-topped tables held up by Roman columns. Menu items include Handmade pasta (bucatini w/ fennel sausage, crab & Calabrese peppers) and pizza (burrata, squash blossom pesto, and roasted tomato) Also non-traditionals like the Isola Burger w/ truffled lardo, balsamic red onions & gem lettuce.

$10 Weekly Pasta Nights at Osteria Morini! Every Monday night from 9:30 p.m. on, Michael White is serving some of his near perfect pasta for just $10 a plate. They usually start at $20 in Soho. White is loosely calling it "Industry Night," so get your cover story explaining "involvement" in the restaurant industry ready. Describing yourself as a foodie should suffice - not like there are many of those around here. Osteria Morini: 218 Lafayette Street, near Kenmare Street.
