      • Storing a bag in Manhattan?

A friend of mine comes into the city pretty often and never has a place to put a bag.  I live out in Brooklyn and it's kind of a hassle to go all the way out there only to come back to Manhattan to hang out. Where is there a good place to store a bag for a few hours?  Do hotels do that?

Go Cubby was created for this very purpose of storing a bag in manhattan. They have a location on east23rd and park. (303 Park Ave South) And it's only about $5-8 to leave your stuff there for the day. they are open 7 days a week 8am to midnight. http://gocubby.com/

If you're coming in on Amtrak or NJ Transit and you have your ticket stub go near track 5 or 6, it's $4.50 per bag and they close at 9:45 pm but they will store it for 24 hours.

It's not east to store luggage in NYC. Try Schwartz Travel at 357 West 36th Street http://www.nyc.com/yellow_pages/... If your friend is arriving at Penn Station, they store luggage if you have a train ticket. Ask an attendant where the luggage storage is, because it's out of the way. Museums store luggage if it's one item, and it's usually for free.

Don't know if they still do but The Chelsea Hotel did this for me a few years ago.

I think hotels would do this.  You probably will have to pay though.
