      • Late night in Manhattan

If I find myself alone and drunk coming back from a bar in Manhattan late at night, which parts of the city should I choose to immediately get in a cab rather than look for the train?  For safety reasons!  (aka what are the unsafe neighborhoods lat at night?)

It's not really cut and dry as to say the lower lower east side or anything above 103 rd street.  Literally one block can be one way and  the next block can be completely different.  Especially in those areas.  I would say if you're not sure or if you feel uncomfortable in some way get in a cab anyway.  I wouldn't worry too much in Manhattan.

The lower lower east side can get a bit dicey too.  Other than what Strider said about way uptown and the lower east side, you should be fine.

Anything higher than 103 street.  If the street numbers are higher than that get directly into the first cab!
