One of the italian restaurants I enjoy the most is a little place called Il Fornaio on Mulberry St in Little Italy. They are different then most of the restaurants that surround them. There is no man at the front with a menu aggresively asking (begging) you to eat there and the interior is very nice and modest. It is like eating at someone's home in some ways. There are two dining areas, one is a bright with white tiled walls and the other is a little darker, a little romantic. Neither are very big. The food and service is consistently good. An added bonus is the large windows in the front that they open in the warm months that allow you to people watch while you eat. I think it's the best italian in little italy
