I love carroll gardens!   What a great little corner of Brooklyn!   With beautiful brownstones on picturesque tree-lined streets, it truly is one of the nicest neighborhoods in all of the five boroughs.

Court Street is lined with a number of long-established small businesses such as italian meat shops  and cheese stores, as well as lovely neighborhood restaurants.   Lucali's on Henry Street is a South Brooklyn destination for some of New York's best pizza.  Its also BYOB, which fits the place perfectly. Prime Meats and Frankies 457, which are right next to each other on Court Street offer some of the finest food in all of Brooklyn with a relaxed, casual atmosphere.   They both have a fabulous beer selection and South Brooklyn Pizza is right next door if you crave a late-night slice after the restaurants stop serving food.  Its open until 5 am and, in my opinion, has the absolute best slice in New York.

Carroll Gardens is simply a lovely place to live and the people who are fortunate enough to call it home take a lot of pride in this wonderful little part of the city.

Awesome neighborhood, family friendly, great restaurants and nightlife. One of the more upscale neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Park Slope is similar, if not nicer. "

Carroll Gardens is possibly the nicest neighborhood in Brooklyn. Close to Brooklyn Heights. Not as smitten and full of babies like Park Slope. Close to Manhattan. Close to Red Hook. A great mix of brownstones and businesses. It's just dense and urban enough to be 'real' brooklyn but not overcrowded or overdeveloped or too trendy. Carroll Gardens is the Brooklyn of the intellectual, lawyer, doctor, and professional. Worth taking a trip there on the F train and exploring it yourself if you have time. "
