OAK Long Bar + Kitchen 138 St. James Ave, at Dartmouth; Back Bay. Contemporary cocktails like the Rosebud, ‘New’ Fashioned and Le Passion Mojito share the stage with classics like the Manhattan, Sidecar and Dirty Martini. 83ft copper bar that stretches the length of the massive room and fronts a fireplace & wood hearth oven, the elegant 146-seater. also vaulted ceilings, towering 17ft Palladian windows, mirrored flatscreens and an outdoor bistro set right off Copley Square. Food includes charcuterie/ cheese boards of smoked speck, sopressata, Berkshire Blue, etc., and a pulled pork flatbread w/ caramel onions & pickled grapes. Grain-fed Maine burger w/ maple smoked cheddar & charred onion aioli, or an herb pesto grilled rack of lamb chops. one of the best new bars in the back bay of boston.

if your looking for a new classy bar / lounge in the back bay of boston a new place just opened under the Hotel Commonwealth! 500A Commonwealth Ave, at Raleigh. Mixing high-end craft cocktails in this overhauled Foundation Lounge to look like the elegantly appointed sitting room with dual bars, plush couches, a bookshelf of spirits, and over 50 works of art, they have creations like the bourbon/ bitters/ lemon Paper Plane and an espresso number made with Galliano Ristretto & chocolate, plus small bites like deviled eggs w/ crispy prosciutto, pickled anchovy & chorizo toast, and a roasted pepper/arugula steak salad.

Clerys (there were actually a lot of Yankees fans here). Match for a more trendy crowd. "
